
Kristaps Kļaviņš
Dr. Kristaps Kļaviņš is a leading researcher and Associate Professor at Riga Technical University, where he contributes to the Baltic Biomaterials Centre of Excellence (BBCE) as the Group Leader for Materials In Vitro. The BBCE is a pioneering hub for biomaterials research and innovation, focusing on the development of advanced biomaterials for bone regeneration and other medical applications. Dr. Kļaviņš and his team are dedicated to creating in vitro tools that support the full lifecycle of biomaterial development, aiming to improve clinical outcomes through innovative, knowledge-based solutions.
With over a decade of international experience, Dr. Kļaviņš has held key roles in both industry and academia, including Senior Scientist at Biocrates Life Sciences and Deputy Head of the Proteomics and Metabolomics Facility at the Research Center for Molecular Medicine (CeMM). His expertise spans metabolomics, proteomics, and the development of biomarkers for early disease detection, such as cancer and Alzheimer’s.
